Rare Tiffany Sterling and Mixed Metals Pepper Shaker

A tall antique sterling hand hammered pepper shaker by Tiffany and Company circa 1880 in pristine condition. The surface is hand hammered and there is an applied copper bug, inlaid copper branches with silver gilt applied flower and engraved lotus leaves on the body. The screw off cap has inlaid copper leaves and there are some inlaid copper specks on the neck. Excellent unpolished condition with the copper retaining the patinated dark color. The decoration is in the Japanese style which was very popular during the 1880s and introduced by Edward Moore. Height 5"; weigh 2.7 ozt.
