RH6786 Rare Kirk 57 Troy Ounce Wine Jug

A rare S Kirk coin silver wine jug with a hinged lid and handle bearing a whippet. The hand chased details depict flowers in panels between chased swirls. The cast base is an assembled heavy combination of leaves and flowers. The cartouche at the center of the body is clear and has never been erased. The hinged lid is hand chased with flowers and there is a floral finial bolted to the top with the original nut. Excellent condition.

Hallmarked pre 1846.

Weight 56.55 troy ounces.

Height 14 1/2" at the handle.

The dome is hand chased with a Persian motif and monogrammed SJ. The interior liner is pierced with a star. Excellent condition. with minimal wear. Diameter 6 3/8".
