H4237 Coin Silver Five Piece Hand Chased Tea and Coffee Set

A finely chased coin silver tea and coffee set with a mark of Eoff and Shepard of New York, circa 1859 and retailed by Ball Black & Co., NY. The handles, base and spouts are cast with naturalistic three dimensional motifs applied with additional vines. Never monogrammed. The body is hand chased with roses and leaves together with other flowers. The finials are floral and are cast and applied. The set comprises: large pot 12 3/4" tall; second pot 12" tall, sugar bowl with hinged lid 10" tall, creamer with hinged lid 8" tall and waste bowl 5" tall with a diameter of 6". Total weight 140.25 troy ounces. An imposing set with sensational chasing and detail.

A fine pair of unusual large ice tongs manufactured in Baltimore by Warner with diapered engraving on the front and back of the bottom blade. The top claw is cast with excellent detail and the claws are deliberately angled down for practical use. Marked: Warner 11-S. The handles are both bright cut on the outside. Length: 10". Weight: 4.6 troy ounces.

C4154 Gorham Coin Silver Pitcher

A remarkable coin silver pitcher by Gorham with engine turned and bright cut bands of decoration and a magnificent cast three dimensional naturalistic handle made up of leaves, wheat and lily pads. There is a band of ball and wire decoration that encircles the mid section of the pitcher. Monogrammed in the cartouche and dated 1862. Also engraved in a large cartouche below the spout is an intricately engraved interior view of J B Mathewson Jewelry Manufacturers factory. Provenance: this pitcher belonged to the owner of that particular factory and is accompanied by a card with typed details from an exhibition. Height 9"; weight 26.15 troy ounces.
