Dominick and Haff Aesthetic Movement Tureen

A superb rectangular form hand chased sterling silver tureen by Dominick and Haff. Circa 1881. The entire surface is hand chased with vines and leaves and butterflies. There is an additional hand chased background beneath the high relief chasing giving the surface added dimension and detail. This was a feature of chasing by Dominick and Haff in the 1880s. Retailed by Theodorre B Starr.

Weight: 74.95 troy ounces.

13 1/2" long by 8" deep by 8 1/2" at the finial which is held in place with the original silver nut.
