RRH483 Rare Tiffany Sterling Tea Caddy

Circa 1870

A rare antique sterling silver tea caddy by Tiffany & Company in pristine condition with applied gilded dragon fly and spider together with Japanese motifs on the cap. The surface is barely touched and has the original satin finish. Compared to the gold washed highlights the band bordering the base of the cap looks like it could be a band of applied gold and it has a bright rose gold finish. There is an engraved spider web cascading down the side of the body of the tea caddy.

Fully marked on the base with the Tiffany & Company mark for the 1870s
