A rare important mug by Joseph Angel London 1858 with the theme of Aesop's Fables. The interior cup is covered with an exterior canopy of finely cast detail depicting the stories of Aesop's Fables held in place by two screws. To highlight the detail the interior cup has engraved detail to fill in the gaps.
