9465 J E Caldwell Sterling Ice Cream Knife

A hand engraved Japanese style antique sterling ice cream serving hatchet. Superbly engraved detail of a bird and plant. Inscribed on the back of the handle with a presentation and two sets of monograms. The first monogram is the original circa 1870 and the second dates 1975. Both well done. Marked sterling and J E Caldwell, a retailer in Philadelphia.
