Tiffany Antique Sterling Cigar Lighter

Circa 1880

A Tiffany antique sterling hand hammered cigar lighter comprising a circular footed base with an applied handle and central shaft supporting a double handle with a spring which when squeezed opens the disc that holds a wick. Suspended from a chain is the original snuffer. The design and finish very much the quality of the finest Tiffany items of the period, this is something we havn't seen before. The central finial screws down to tighten the whole mechanism. Marked on the base with the Tiffany mark and sterling silver.
