H657 Shreve Sterling Pierced Swing Handle Cake Basket

Circa 1900

A massive pierced and applied sterling silver swing handle cake basket by Shreve of San Francisco. The ornate swing handle is decorated with a grape motif as is the wide ornate border of the basket. There is a large Victorian style "A" monogram at the center of the bowl. A light presentation inscription on the reverse of the piece. Very good quality decoration in an ornate cake basket circa 1900.
