T4079 Important Royal Silver Hanovarian Double Tea Caddy An important Hanovarian silver basket shaped double tea caddy chased with flowers and leaves on the body and lid. The handle is a fixed naturalistic branch. There is a fixed divider at the center. Excellent condition.Engraved with the Royal cipher of Prince Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover, Duke of Cumberland and Brunswick-Luneburg (the fifth son of King George III of Great Britain). Circa 1850. Length 6" by 4 3/4" by 6 1/2" tall with handle. Weight 20.8 troy ounces. Marked with a City of Hanover mark and the maker MATTHIAS. SOLD |

RH3316 Rare and Important Tiffany Tea Caddy A sterling silver Tiffany Japanese motif tea caddy with removable lid. The ivory plaque is decorated with a pair of jesters with applied gold decoration. Other silver applications on the body include bamboo, blossoms and an ornate Japanese style decorated band. Monogrammed on the reverse with a Victorian Gothic intertwined monogram. Width 4 1/4"; height 4 1/2" at finial. Weight 12.4 troy ounces. This actual tea caddy is pictured on page 35 of John Loring's book titled "Magnificent Tiffany Silver." In this article the author points out that the ivory plaque on the front of the caddy and the unusual finial on the lid of the caddy are the direct result of the collaboration between Edward Moore and Christopher Dresser.
