T4438 Russian Art Nouveau Silver Tea Caddy

A large Russian silver tea caddy with hand engraved art nouveau swags, garlands with flowers. The surface has a satin finish in the original excellent condition. The cap pulls off and there is an additional interior hallmarked stopper with a large cork. The front of the tea caddy is engraved with a Chinese mandarin holding a scroll engraved with lettering that looks like it could stand for tea. Finest detail throughout. This is a large oversize tea caddy dating from the early 1900s, pre revolution. Height: 6 1/2". Weight: 16.4 troy ounces.
