RH4138 Indian Silver Duck Shaped Carafe

A finely chased silver carafe made for export to the Western market. The lid hinges back to open. There are finely chased scrolls, flowers and leaves and an applied handle. There are two finely chased areas on each side of the body with a chased elephant tackling a lion. The second side shows the lion defeated. Very well constructed and in excellent condition. Unmarked.

RH2686 Tiffany Columbian Exposition Child's Set

A sterling silver baby set comprising a plate, spoon and bowl marked with the 1893 special Columbian Exposition mark together with the other Tiffany sterling marks of the period. Total weight: 21.1 troy ounces. Most of the cherub decoration is applied and there is some light chasing in the background. Plate diameter: 7 3/4" Bowl diameter: 4 3/4". Height: 3". Gold washed inside the bowl. Inscribed with a 1903 presentation on the base of the bowl and on the plate.

T4079 Important Royal Silver Hanovarian Double Tea Caddy

An important Hanovarian silver basket shaped double tea caddy chased with flowers and leaves on the body and lid. The handle is a fixed naturalistic branch. There is a fixed divider at the center. Excellent condition. Engraved with the Royal cipher of Prince Ernest Augustus, King of Hanover, Duke of Cumberland and Brunswick-Luneburg (the fifth son of King George III of Great Britain). Circa 1850. Length 6" by 4 3/4" by 6 1/2" tall with handle. Weight 20.8 troy ounces. Marked with a City of Hanover mark and the maker MATTHIAS.

Tiffany silver tea caddy Christopher Dresser and Moore

RH3316 Rare and Important Tiffany Tea Caddy

A sterling silver Tiffany Japanese motif tea caddy with removable lid. The ivory plaque is decorated with a pair of jesters with applied gold decoration. Other silver applications on the body include bamboo, blossoms and an ornate Japanese style decorated band. Monogrammed on the reverse with a Victorian Gothic intertwined monogram. Width 4 1/4"; height 4 1/2" at finial. Weight 12.4 troy ounces. This actual tea caddy is pictured on page 35 of John Loring's book titled "Magnificent Tiffany Silver." In this article the author points out that the ivory plaque on the front of the caddy and the unusual finial on the lid of the caddy are the direct result of the collaboration between Edward Moore and Christopher Dresser.

RH3176 Large Important Gorham Sterling Mixed Metals Centerpiece Bowl Circa 1891

A large Gorham sterling and copper bowl with a faceted chased surface. The interior is gold washed. The sides have bunches of grapes with vines and leaves applied The base is formed out of an applied copper naturalistic branch. Height 6 1/2". Length across the handles 16 1/2"; diameter of bowl 10 1/2". Marked lion, anchor, G, Sterling, N (date for 1891) as well as EX.

Gorham mixed metals apple shaped tea caddy

RH2685 Rare Gorham Sterling "Apple" Tea Caddy

Very unusual Gorham sterling silver apple with hinged lid and textured surface. Applied leaf decoration. The lid fits together with the base with a jagged irregular seam as if the apple had been peeled open. Dated 1883 with the Gorham date letter P. The clasp is a bug that rotated to secure a small bar on the top lid. Height: 3". Weight: 7.45 troy ounces.

RH3637 Rare Whiting Sterling Mixed Metals Crab Bowl

A sterling silver bowl by Whiting circa 1880 in pristine condition. The bowl is oval and gold washed on the inside. Decorated with a large applied silver crab with a copper shell and a copper cat tail with silver reeds. On the reverse is a large conch shell highlighted with fine engraving. The surface is completely hammered including the pedestal base. Weight: 26.45 troy ounces. 10" long by 4" tall.
