RH3674 Wendt Sterling Lobster Bowl and Matching Salad Set
An impressive three piece set comprising an oval bowl with gilt interior on a pedestal base circa 1870. Manufactured by John Wendt for D H Buell in Hartford, the retailer. The two cast sterling lobsters are screwed to the sides of the bowl and show remarkable realistic detail. The bowl weighs 22 troy ounces and measures 10 3/4" long by 6 1/2" tall at the sides. The salad servers are 11 1/4" long, weigh 7.35 troy oz and have two lobsters screwed to the handle. All three pieces are engraved "Taft". Also marked English Sterling.
