N4199 Howard and Co 1891 Sterling Standing Mirror

A rather posh sterling silver standing mirror with a satin wood back and sterling silver easel marked Howard and Company 1891 and sterling. The front of the frame is decorated with scrolls and hand chased ornate detailed scrolls. The cartouche on the top has a small monogram and a crest. The mirror is a hand beveled heart shaped glass mirror, the original. The detail in the chasing and the finish of the back of the frame together with the heavy sterling easel and mount make one think that this was an expensive item when manufactured in 1891. Howard and Co were known for their quality workmanship in sterling silver. Dimensions: 12" by 9 3/4"
