Gorham sterling special order heart box in original box

N3717 Gorham Special Order sterling Bon Bon Box

A sterling silver and gold washed bon bon box in the shape of a heart measuring 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" by 1 1/4" deep. The lid and sides are hand chased with flowers and the cartouche has an embossed crown above an inscribed "GdeC". The date letter is 1895. Housed in the original fitted box covered with satin and hand painted with a crest on the hinged lid. Box is marked Louis Sherry, New York. Marked with a number in a rectanglar cartouche indicating a special order by Gorham.
