H2891 J E Caldwell Repousse Pitcher

A finely hand chased sterling silver pitcher, circa 1880 in pristine condition. The handle is hand decorated with applied vines. The bottom of the pitcher is chased with acanthus leaves. Retailed by J E Caldwell of Philadelphia but experience in looking at the style and detail of the chasing suggests that this is the work of Peter Krider of Philadelphia, Pa. Weight: 30.55 troy oz. Height: 8 1/2" at handle.
