Boxed Set of Gorham C Mark Spoons and Tongs

This is an outstanding set of 12 Gorham sterling dessert spoons and sugar tongs, hand hammered with gold washed bowls and ancient Roman medallions. They are marked with a C only which is a series by Gorham. On the lid of the leather box is an embossed wolf suckling Romulus and Remus and the words Roma. The box is lined with blue satin and an ornate paisley on the interior of the lid and covering the hinges. Box 16 1/2" by 6 1/2". The spoons are 5" long and the tongs and 5 1/4" long.

A unique and rare salad serving set by Whiting, designed by Charles Osborne in the Japanese style with applied dragon flies and lotus flowers. The bowls are solid sterling and are hand hammered as are the ends of the handles that are silver. The wood is in excellent condition with no cracks. Length 12".

Rare Sterling Fish Server

A rare sterling fish server presumably by the Whiting Manufacturing Company with a cast bird and branch on the handle. The satin finished gold washed blade is engraved with ivy on the front. Very fine detail in the bird and feathers. Length: 10 3/4". The handle is cast in the form of a foot of a bird with the claws joining the blade at the top of the back of the blade. Marked: Sterling and the number 14.

Gorham c mark antique silver rare fish set including a fish server and ten knives

Museum Quality Rare Gorham C Mark Sterling Fish Set Circa 1880

An extremely rare and one of a kind fish set by the Gorham Company marked sterling and C only, part of the time period in the 1880s when Gorham used the C mark for their exotic Hamburg pattern and unusual olive forks. The larger fish server is a full size serving piece at 10 3/4" with a weight of 6.3 troy ounces. The ten knives are 7 1/2" long and weigh 1.20 troy ounces each.

EX3139 Six Gorham Sterling Egyptian style Oversize oyster Forks

A rare set of six different Finely crafted sterling silver oyster forks with engraved tines. Length 6". The motifs include mixed metals, and Egyptian inscriptions on the square terminal, a birds balancing a ball, geese and a pharaoh's head. All are hand finished with applied wire and satin finished engraved tines. These are labeled Bric-A-Brac oyster forks c1881 in the Gorham archives.
