reed and barton figural elephant set pitchers

American Three Piece Silverplate set Figural Elephant

A rare set of three pitchers in silverplate by Reed & Barton adorned with ornate elephant heads and trunks dressed in jewels forming the handles. The bodies of the pitchers are chased with scenes of water lilies on a bamboo branch, water and mountains. Height ranges from 7 1/4", 3 1/4" to 3" by 5 1/2", 5" and 5" wide including the handle. They were probably used for cool drinks i.e. lemonade. Excellent original condition. The large pitcher has a concave indentation under the base.
