EX3998 English Silver Lily Pad Fish Set

An antique silver two piece fish serving set by Hilliard and Thomason dated 1852 and hallmarked in Birmingham. The tines and blade pierced and finely engraved with water lilies and lily pads. The hollow handles are filled and also feature large lily pads. The period of manufacture overlaps with the Great Exhibition in London, the first of the great expositions of the 19th century. This was a period of great innovation in design and technology.
